A Day in the Life at Kids Care Club’s Two-Year-Olds Program: The Monkey Schedule

Welcome to a day filled with learning, exploration, and fun in the Monkey Schedule at Kids Care Club, specifically designed for our two-year-olds in Rancho Penasquitos and 4S Ranch. This schedule captures what it means to be two: a world where play and learning go hand in hand, and each activity is an opportunity for growth and discovery. From the early morning welcome in the Monkey Room to the engaging storytime that rounds off the day, our program is tailored to nurture the curiosity, independence, and development of every child in a warm and caring environment.

The Monkey Schedule

Welcoming Morning

7:00 – 7:45 am

The day starts with a warm welcome in the Monkey Room, where children are greeted individually as they arrive. This period is vital for helping two-year-olds transition from home to the learning environment, offering various engaging centers to explore and settle in.

Morning Routine

7:45 – 8:40 am

As morning activities wind down, children are involved in a clean-up process, learning responsibility and teamwork.

Circle Time 

8:40 – 9:00 am

Circle time is an interactive session involving the calendar, a story, language arts, and sharing. This is a time for building social skills, listening abilities, and introducing basic concepts like colors, shapes, and numbers.

Morning Snack

9:00– 9:20 am

Snack time provides nourishment and a chance for children to practice social skills and table manners. It’s a relaxed environment for children to interact and share.

Transition Activities

9:45 – 10:30 am

After snacks, children engage in bathroom routines and table top activities, aiding in their daily routine development.

Group Activities

10:30 – 11:15 am

Children are divided into two groups for various activities:

Group 1: Engages in Zoo Phonics, Math, Manipulatives, and Art.

Group 2: Participates in Science, Group Games, and Outdoor Play.

Halfway through, the groups switch activities, ensuring diverse learning experiences.

Music, Movement, and Science

11:15 – 11:30 am

Children participate in music and movement activities, followed by science learning, fostering creativity and exploration.

 Lunch Time

11:45 am – 12:45 pm

Lunch time is an important part of the day, offering a balanced meal and a time for children to engage in conversations.

Quiet Book Time

12:45 – 1:00 pm

Following lunch and hygiene routines, children enjoy self-selected book time, a peaceful transition into nap time.

Nap Time

1:00 – 3:00 pm

Nap time is essential for rest and rejuvenation, providing a calm atmosphere for children to relax and recharge.

Post-Nap Activities

3:00 – 3:10 pm

As children wake up, they engage in hand washing and bathroom routines before the afternoon snack.

Afternoon Snack

3:10 – 3:30 pm

The afternoon snack provides energy for the remaining activities of the day.

Evening Circle Time and Learning Centers

3:30 – 3:45 pm

Evening circle time and learning centers offer a structured environment for children to engage in educational activities and review the day’s learning.

Outdoor Time

3:45 – 4:30 pm

Outdoor play in the late afternoon allows for physical activity, exploration, and peer interaction.

Story Time

4:30 – 5:30 pm

The day concludes with story time, a calm and engaging activity to end the day, reinforcing a love for reading and storytelling.
