Ultimate Preschool Checklist for Parents

Our role here at Kids’ Care Club is to collaborate with our future families to prepare children and parents alike for the start of their preschool experience. This is a new experience for both of you, and we’re here to make the transition as smooth as possible. In the weeks before your first day here at Kids’ Care Club, we have 10 tips to better prepare for your child’s first day.

Preschool Checklist for Parents

We provide you with a preschool checklist so that your child is well equipped for their first day. The following checklist is what we require here in the classroom.

  • Two changes of weather-appropriate clothes, placed in a zip lock bag and labeled.
  • Shoes appropriate for running and outdoor play (no flip-flops, crocs, high heels, open-toed, or backless shoes).
  • Sunscreen (make sure to sign a sunscreen authorization form).
  • A Hat
  • A labeled light blanket and crib-sized sheet to be taken home and laundered weekly.
  • A Ziploc bag or other small bag that is labeled with your child’s name and marked “Dirty Clothes”.
  • Diapers/Pull-Ups, wipes, and ointment with your child’s name (If needed).
  • “All About Me” page with a family photo attached.
  • Water will be provided throughout the day (12+ months), so please bring a reusable water bottle with fresh water each morning.

If your child is starting in our infant class, there are additional items to bring with your child on their first day. Please bring in:

  • 2-4 changes of clothes
  • 2 blankets (12+ months) and 2 fitted crib sheets labeled with child’s name
